The Beaches of the Florida Keys
The start of summer is just a couple of weeks away and Florida definitely has some of the best beaches in the southeastern United States. Narrowing it down to the Florida Keys, you’re bound to find a beach you’ll like among this archipelago where relaxation is fundamental.
We’ll begin the recommendations with Bahia Honda, located off of Big Pine Key. For snorkeling fans, there is arguably no better option and it truly is a paradise. The area is relatively sparse, so make sure you bring a lunch along.
Long Key State Park was once the home of Long Key fishing camp where Florida pioneer Henry Flagler welcomed the notable and well to do during the early 20th century. Fast forward several decades and it is now one of the most beautiful parks in the state, with a long stretch of beach plus campsites by the ocean which may reopen early next year.
Speaking of sparse, it doesn’t get more remote in the Florida Keys than Sombrero Beach near Mile Marker 50. You’ll need to take a short walk through palm trees and mangroves to reach the beach, but the views of the sunrise and sunset are simply stunning.
